Abortion is Murder: And Everyone Knows It
Friday, April 12th, Bill Maher said that abortion is murder and he is "okay with that." Admitting that this is ultimately the pro-choice position.
While Maher's comments were shocking for many, they are no different than what is often said every single day by women walking into abortion mills or ordering pills online. The left has reached a point where they readily admit that abortion purposely takes the life of a child.
Make no mistake: Abortion is murder, and everyone knows it—including pregnant women. We must not delude ourselves into thinking this is not the case.
For decades, the pro-life movement has insisted that once people learn proper embryology and the science of life inside the womb, they will undoubtedly become pro-life. They believe that the only reason so many support abortion is merely due to ignorance. However, as Bill Maher's comments have proven, the problem is not one of education. The issue is that people's hearts have become cold and accepting of murder.
Just a quick glance through @Not_a_Victim_'s post will make that clear.
The pro-life movement's belief that the issue is ignorance & education is why the "strategy" most anti-abortion organizations use is to merely regulate abortion, rather than actually criminalize it. They believe that little by little, they can educate the public on abortion and eventually be able to ban it decades later once it becomes accepted by the public. Furthermore, they oppose criminalizing abortion and granting equal protection to preborn babies at any point.
The pro-life movement has long believed in what is called the "second victim" narrative, which is the belief that women are victims of abortion too, not perpetrators. They claim that women have no idea what they are actually doing when they choose to murder their children. Therefore, they should never be held legally accountable.
Every pro-life law enacted in America today contains an immunity clause for women, stating that women who get abortions can never be held criminally liable. While this may be the most politically expedient belief, it is the main reason why abortion remains legal in America today.
The video released by Abolitionists Rising in February 2023 shows that by creating legal impunity for women, abortion pills are completely legal and easily accessible for women seeking to murder their preborn child. This is true even in states where abortion has been so-called "banned," like Texas or Oklahoma.
As pointed out in Abolitionists Rising's video, websites like "Plan C" or "Aid Access" partner with abortion pill providers overseas and ship them to women in states with "bans." By using an overseas provider, the distributor is not able to be prosecuted for their action, and the woman cannot be held accountable for ordering or taking the abortion pill thanks to the immunity clauses in pro-life laws. Thus rendering abortion completely legal, even in states with bans in place.
The truth is that since Roe v. Wade was overturned, abortion numbers have not decreased—they have increased. According to the Guttmacher Institute, roughly 1,026,690 abortions happened during 2023, not counting any self-managed abortions done by the pill via websites previously mentioned. This means that abortion numbers are at the highest they have been in over a decade, despite Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization.
The state of abortion in the United States has never been darker. Americans have become completely accepting of child sacrifice. State by state, child sacrifice is becoming enshrined into law. I would argue this is because those who are against it refuse to condemn it for what it truly is—murder.
Instead of speaking prophetically, demanding our politicians outlaw abortion without immunity or exception, the pro-life establishment has acted as cowards and made excuses for those practicing child sacrifice. Outlawing abortion can only be done by speaking with clarity, boldness, and focus—not through compromise. You cannot compromise on child sacrifice.
It is neither wise nor pragmatic to allow a "little bit of baby murder" as a means to eventually end it. No, we must cut it off at the root, no matter how uncomfortable it feels in the moment.
We must do away with the naivety and incompetence that the pro-life movement has displayed for the past fifty years. The unconstitutional immunity clauses for women must be done away with, never to be seen again. We must prioritize ending murder over political cowardice because millions of lives depend on it.
The only path forward is to pursue passing equal protection laws that recognize the full personhood of the preborn, making abortion illegal for everyone.
As the constitutional lawyer, Bradley Pierce says—murdering anyone should be illegal for everyone. Full stop.
